Last updated: 2026-10-11. These terms cover the InferIndex public API (https://api.inferindex.dev),
its MCP server (https://mcp.inferindex.dev/mcp) and the plugins that connect to them. By using them, you
accept these terms.
1. The service
InferIndex compares the prices that AI model API providers publish. The API and the MCP server are free to use and read-only; the public pages of the website need no sign-in either. An optional free account gives you an API key that raises your rate limit: you create the account with an email address and sign in with a link we email to you, or with your GitHub or Google account. An account and its key are personal: keep them private, do not share them, and do not resell them. You are responsible for what is done with your key and your account.
2. No guarantee
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that response formats won't change. We may change, limit or stop the service at any time.
3. The data
Prices and conditions are collected from providers' public information and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong: a provider can change its price at any moment, and our collection or matching can make mistakes. Signals such as promotions, stale prices or cost estimates are indications, not certainties. InferIndex is a comparison tool, not financial, purchasing or legal advice. Always confirm prices and conditions on the provider's own site before committing to spend. We are not responsible for decisions or costs based on this data.
4. Fair use and rate limits
Use the service reasonably. Requests are rate-limited, per IP address or per API key; over the limit, you'll get
HTTP 429. Current limits are listed in the
API documentation. Don't try to get around them (for
example by rotating IP addresses or keys, or by creating several accounts or keys), don't overload or disrupt the service, and
don't probe or attack it. We may block traffic, revoke a key or close an account that doesn't respect these terms. You can
delete your account at any time from your account space.
Good-faith security research is welcome: report it to security@inferindex.dev, stay within your own requests, don't access or modify other people's data, don't degrade the service (no denial-of-service or high-volume testing), and give us reasonable time to fix before any disclosure. We won't pursue research that follows these rules.
5. Reusing the data
You may use the responses in your own tools, products and analyses. Don't present InferIndex data as official information from a provider, and don't resell raw access to the API as your own service.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, InferIndex is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service or its data. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (for example for wilful misconduct or gross negligence).
7. Privacy
How we handle data, including the email address you give to create an account, is described in our privacy policy.
8. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Questions: contact@inferindex.dev. Security reports: security@inferindex.dev.
